I'm here for this, Jamie. I feel you in so many ways as I still love my powder blush. I am a dance mom so when I'm in dressing rooms with 11 year olds, I'm amazed at the products they use. If there are 10 girls in a dressing room there must be $10K worth of product.

WOW -- that is stunning. Is there one brand that has them the most hooked?

Def. Rhode - also, Summer Fridays, Laniege, Rare Beauty, Glow Recipe. Sol de Janiero for scent and lotion. They use Touchland for hand sanitizer. I order extra Summer Friday lip glosses and Touchlands and give them out as birthday gifts to the girls.

This boggles my mind. What did we have? Clinique? It's too much. I would love to hear their attitude on makeup ten years from now. Like I said, I think the Gen Z people I've spoken to have a pretty healthy approach despite the deluge.

At 11 I had like Lip Smackers, Wet n Wild or some ancient Estee Lauder from a distant family member. My mom had Clinique. I remember my first serious makeup buy in college was Mac and Bobbi Brown. I mean Mac has basically been my constant since the 90s.

It’s incredible that Bobbi Brown was the go-to in our 20s and now Jones Road is my fav at 55.

And Jamie - *you* are an influencer. I just bought a bunch of Jones Road bc of you!!

Also - I thought it was so interesting that Georgia said she and her friends aren't using it to necessarily make themselves more presentable like us Gen x girlies thought we were supposed to do, but then again Georgia is pretty. I have to imagine that other young women *are* trying to make themselves prettier. Also, another thing worth looking into that i think is so interesting is all the tweens using skin care which i've heard isn't so great for their skin long term!

I remember two of my closest girlfriends went to the makeup store with their moms and their moms bought them makeup and they learned how to use it. Mine did not. So interesting the discrepancy in that. But i imagine nowadays girls don't need that bc social media and GRWM

This is really interesting and you bring up a great point. I might have to invite Georgia on to address it because I don't want to speak for her. And you're definitely right about skin care. Rhode, for example, has some product called "Glazing Milk (I hate these food names. IT so fetishistic) and I read that it's very comedogenic. And yes, that's the real downside and hidden danger zone of this high gloss aesthetic. Believe me, they are by no means free of problematic stuff. It's just different than our problematic stuff.

A lot - i was due for a makeup refresh (lots of old things in my makeup drawer) -- Tinted moisturizer (the foundation looked too heavy for me), one miracle balm for lips and one for cheeks, a lip recharge gloss, an eyeshadow, a concealer stick, a powder (hahahahhahahahah) and a brush for the powder. I feel like the powder just sets everything, no? And I'm greasy so I need it. I honestly thing "greasy" is different from "glowy and glazed."

I know the tinted moisturizer looks great - I like the heavier foundation because my skin tone is so uneven. I didn't stop sitting in the sun until I was 25 and I regret it!

What did you get!?? I’m very excited about this 💋
